Dog-Friendly Spots along The Malt Whisky Trail
Have you ever been packed, ready to hit the road for the next adventure, but something paws at the back of your mind? Suddenly you remember; what about the dog!? This time, why not say no to the kennels, good-bye to the dog sitters, and embrace a trip that caters for you and your four-legged friend. Here, we provide you and your pup with the top dog-friendly spots to eat, sleep, and go walkies along the Malt Whisky Trail!Â
First on our list we have the luxurious Eight Acres Hotel and Leisure Club, situated in Elgin. Dog-friendly and equipped with a leisure club, you and your pooch can have the best of both worlds. Relax in the sauna or take your dog for a walk in the nearby Oakwood forest (Eight Acres Hotel will even provide a packed lunch for you and your dog!). Near our Dallas Dhu Distillery, it is the perfect stop-off for a short spa day trip or a longer weekend stay where the hotel provides dog-friendly rooms.Â

Padding our way to the next stop, we come to The Stuart Arms. Located in Dufftown near our Glenfiddich Distillery, this dog-friendly bar and restaurant is the perfect place to spend a relaxing evening. It offers delicious fresh food, a wide selection of whisky malts, and the outdoor beer garden allows space for your dog while you enjoy a dram. Â

Heading west along the River Spey, we arrive at The Craigellachie Hotel. With a view of the Spey River and near our Speyside Cooperage, this is a definite stop for you and your dog. Dog beds are available on request from the Hotel and nearby walks include the Speyside Way and the lovely hill walk of Ben Aigan. Spend the day exploring, and by night have a lovely dinner in the fire-lit Copperdog. The Craigellachie provides a home away from home experience, made all the better by the presence of your dog.

Our final stop is The Knockandhu Woolmill. This cosy cafe offers homebaked treats, hot soups and a comforting place for you and your dog to recuperate after a long walk. You’re also able to explore the authentic Historic Scotland Woolmill and the lovely knitwear shops. Even better, it is only a five-minute walk from our Cardhu Distillery!Â
So, pack that dog lead and bring the whole family on a trip to Speyside. These friendly dog spots mean that nobody – not even the dog – gets left behind, proving once again that anything is pawsible on The Malt Whisky Trail!
