Spring/Summer Opening Times | Malt Whisky Trail
Spring is without a doubt one of the best times of year to visit Speyside. The sun is starting to shine, the flowers are in bloom, the little lambs are running around the fields and of course… increased opening hours at our Malt Whisky Trail locations! Not sure where to start? Here is a quick run-down of The Malt Whisky Trail locations you should visit this Spring/Summer.
We highly recommend booking a spot at the locations you would like to visit ahead of time. Book online by following the link below for each individual destination.
Opening hours: April-October from 9:30am-5:30pm daily.
Said to be one of the most picturesque distilleries, Dallas Dhu offers an insight into how whisky was made in the 1900’s with self-guided audio tours. If you want to get up close and personal with the machinery that helped make Speyside Whisky a global brand and then enjoy a dram for yourself, Dallas Dhu is well worth a visit.

Opening hours: April – October, 9:30am- 5:30pm Monday to Saturday and opens Sundays throughout June, July and August from 10am-5pm with the last tour at 3:30pm.
Benromach Distillery has been making their whisky with the same spring water rising in nearby Romach Hills since 1898. Fancy a tour? The people at Benromach will take you on a highly educational yet immersive tour of the production of their whisky and of course finish off with a tutored tasting of the classic Speyside Single Malt Whisky.
Opening hours: 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. (Increased opening hours from May 4th)
Located in Speyside’s historic and friendly capital, Elgin, Glen Moray offers a variety of tours including; a guided chocolate and whisky tasting tour, a fun and informative experience led by Iain Burnett, Highland Chocolatier.
Opening hours: April – October, 9:30am-5pm from Monday-Friday.
From connoisseurs to first-time triers, 16,000 people pass through Glen Grant’s doors each year and immerse themselves in the guided tours and private tastings the distillery has to offer. They also have beautiful gardens and walks that would be perfect to explore on a sunny day.

Opening hours: 9am-4pm daily.
Glenfiddich was one of the first distilleries to sell single malt scotch whisky outside of Scotland and to this day continue to push the boundaries of whisky making. Join the craftsmen for a tour or tasting and discover how the world’s most awarded whiskies are made.
Opening hours: March until October, 9:30am-6pm daily.
Considered one of the most beautiful distilleries, Strathisla distillery offer a sensory experience, whether you are a whisky enthusiast or complete newcomer, each tour Strathisla offer is both memorable and informative. There ‘Blending Tour’ is a must do when you are in Speyside.Â
Opening hours: Monday – Friday from 9am -5pm, with the last tour of the day at 3:30pm.
From a great gift shop to the five star award winning tour, The Speyside Cooperage offers insight into the journey of speyside casks and the chance to witness the Coopers hard at work, still using traditional methods. A favourite for many Speyside visitors.Â
Opening hours:Â 11th of March to the 8th of November, 9:30am-6pm, daily.
With gorgeous grounds, a fantastic tasting room and a rich historical background, allow one of the seasonal guides to give you a glimpse of how one of Scotland’s most legendary and best selling whisky brands is made before sampling it for yourself.
Opening hours: April – September from 10am – 5pm, daily.
Being the only distillery to have been pioneered by women, Cardhu’s history and the product it continues to produce is widely unique from its surrounding neighbours on the Malt Whisky Trail. With their 12y whisky being slighter lighter, this is the perfect starting point for someone at the beginning of their whisky journey, with the 15y and 18y providing flavours for more experienced drinkers or those looking for something richer and complex.
