The Distillery
Benromach was established in 1898 and experienced many closures and changes of ownership before it was purchased by the Urquhart family, the owners of Gordon & MacPhail, in 1998.
The family’s dream to own a classic Speyside distillery saw them re-equip the site before it was re-opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998.
At Benromach their Single Malt Scotch Whisky is handcrafted and made slowly, the time-honoured way. Using the finest natural ingredients 3 distillers orchestrate every second of the distillation process by sight, sound, touch and smell.
Visit Benromach
A friendly tour guide will proudly show visitors the boby mill, mash tun, 4 wooden washbacks, 2 copper stills, spirit safe, filling room, and dunnage warehouses before finishing the experience at the Visitor Centre, which is stocked with the full Benromach range and many mementoes. And, of course, you can enjoy a tutored tasting of the Benromach 10 Years Old, or other expressions from the award winning range.

Where can I find the Benromach Distillery?
Benromach Distillery is tucked away at the top of Speyside, beside the coast. There aren’t many roads up here so it’s easy to find your way through the Highlands. Head for Forres Railway Junction: go over the level crossing and turn second left at the pond.
